La Note is Berkeley’s own southern French restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Housed in a building dating back to 1875, the atmosphere is warm and bustling, but the best seats in the house are arguably outside on the enclosed patio filled with flowers, trees overhead, and wooden chairs and blue benches.
For breakfast, expect a wide selection of pancakes, including lemon gingerbread, plus eggs with chicken apple sausage and croissants with almonds and other toppings. Fresh sandwich choices include grilled tuna with aioli and brie with tomato pesto. The ratatouille is served with parmesan cheese and rosemary couscous, while the fish stew with saffron broth is made-to-order and features a variety of seafood with croutons.
La Note is a pleasant Berkeley spot for a delightful meal. Reservations are accepted for lunch and dinner.
